Summary for Excel 2007

To create a workbook click the Microsoft Office Button and choose which workbook you want to create. When you open up Excel 2007 a new blank workbook is displayed. Once excel is opened you can begin writing and filling in the cells with whatever information you have. It is a good idea to always save your work every time you change something on your sheet/ workbook, preferably every five minutes to half hour. If you want to save your changed document but you also want the one you started off with, go to the save as command to create a new file name. When saving a workbook one can also change the format and the location of where it would be saved and you can do all of this in the save as dialog box. In the document properties one can add their own information such as: their name, keywords, category, etc.

To modify a workbook one can add or delete tabs, change the color of the tabs, reposition the tabs, name the tab, and so on. To add or delete a tab click the insert worksheet button at the right corner of the tab bar. To name a tab double click it and it will be highlighted and start typing the name you want. One can also move an entire worksheet to another workbook. You can do this by right-clicking the tab you want to move and copy and click on the Move or Copy button to display the dialog box, and then press ok. To be able to change the location of the tab just drag the tab to the location you want. One can also hide and unhide a worksheet. To do this right-click the worksheet tab and click Hide. To unhide follow the same steps but just click the unhide button.
